Intractability Update!
I've spent some time this week making some major changes to this little project!
I modeled, rigged, and animated a new character! It's my first time ever doing so from scratch, and I'm pretty happy with the results. The animations are pretty janky, but I decided to leave it as-is both because I think it fits the retro aesthetic, and also because I didn't want to spend hours futzing over tiny details. I also changed the light source from a staff to a little magic lamp that follows you around.
I also modeled about a dozen new assets for the scene itself, and re-worked it entirely. I added some new ambient sounds, and wrote a new piece of music that better fits this new scene!
I plan to spend some time next week expanding the scene slightly so there's another location to visit, and I'll probably write a new song for that location as well. After that, I'm gonna call it on this piece! I'm trying to start a new habit -- making small (and complete) proofs-of-concept and then moving on to the next. This way I can practice all of the various skills I'll need to work on something larger eventually.

I hope you enjoy this little experience!
